Comic books aren't books. Some of us need visuals. ;D

I just lent "Flight of the Vin Fiz" to my ASL instructor. It's the true story of the greatest aviator that ever lived, and nobody's ever heard of. Out of print. You can't have one, and that's too bad.
I better get a freaking A in that class.

Another good flying book if you can track it down is Kill Devil Hill, a biography of the Wright Brothers by Harry Combs.

Vin Fiz has a lot of Wright Brothers information in it. Mostly that they were a couple of litigious assholes. There's a great quote in it from Wilbur, though (Orville was off in France suing everyone with an airplane). Rogers shows up at the Wright factory, and wants to buy a model EX to fly across the country. Wright tells him "There's no airplane made that can make that trip. Six strong men might carry it across, though."

Murder City by Charles Bowden Charles Bowden is fantastic. If you haven't already read them, I highly recommend Blood Orchids and Down By the River.

Murder City by Charles Bowden Charles Bowden is fantastic. If you haven't already read them, I highly recommend Blood Orchids and Down By the River. I do have to say I really like his writing style. Murder City is a strangely romantic telling of horrible occurrences. Thanks for the tip. When I'm through with Tears of a Clown, I will check them out

Yep, he has a very lyrical, almost feverish, style. It's immersive.
