I just spent $600,000 on a house. So fuck all ya'll. Lightweight... Who is sookie on SBN? I'm kinda pissed at BHD that he up and left frankly. The whole point of a PR forum is to argue, a wankfest with everyone who sees eye-to-eye as you gets lame pretty fast, as is evident here. Btw, I love the President Kickass slogan - I use it quite a bit. All Obama had to do was let a large bank fail or perp-walk some wall street execs and his populace cred would be off the charts. Instead he listened to morons like Tim "welcome to the recovery" Geithner and is gonna get owned. I don't care, I generally don't like dems but was at least happy that we were going to get some cohesive energy policy out of the whole thing. Oops, fail.

Well, I have to say, the corporate welfare that Obama's gonna announce tomorrow is a real live version of GOP lite. A little FDR talk yesterday (Rebuild infrastruture!) yesterday and Ronnie Reagan tomorrow! Sorta looking like political dance school before November's Debutante Ball. I'm really interested to see where he trys to draw the line for renewal of tax cuts.

Oh, and one other thing: Will, thanks for the brief explanation of what happened here (although I doubt one guy ran this into the ground--Douchebag John seems to have a fair amount of Awesome in him too.) No, really, one guy jammed the whole place with utter stupidity. Arguing with people with brains is challenging and interesting. Trying to reason with an idiot who has diarrhea mouth and thinks he's a genius is boring. He managed to bore the hell out of a lot of people, just as the idiot fest over on SBN bored the hell out of me. I didn't get banned, just utterly bored with how dumb most of the people really are. The utter lack of any ability to understand reality past the shallowest sound byte gets old fast, as does trying to explain the same thing over and over again to people who should be bright enough to understand it. So, one utter idiot did in fact burn out a whole lot of people. The dumbass here was not as vitriolic as Dakota Kid, who keeps getting let back onto SBN in spite of wishing people's demise in motorcycle accidents. I'll give him that much credit. It's a shame BHD bailed, because his analyses were always a highlight. He and KK got into it, and somehow she managed to push his buttons in a way he couldn't tolerate. I always found her somewhat amusing, taken with a grain of salt. So it goes. It's quiet, but things come and go. It might pick up again, but then I don't think any of us is exactly advertising for people to post here. I'm sure there's some gloating over on SBN, but those of us who left don't miss the place, so there's nothing much to gloat about.

Actually, this forum is wide open and quite a few people didn't see eye to eye. Unfortunately, those folks left. Jim Schmidt started his own thing. BHD got tired of being stalked, I think Fritz got near marruhed and others got sick of the one retard libertarian whose name I forgot. I love arguments and wished we had them. That being said, these places are dying out. Hence the re-org on my part. CEHVC will exist, but not in this form in the upcoming months. Once I finish the launch of a new product by my company, I will do something different.

The only ass President Kickass has even looked at like he might raise a boot to it is those damn socialist union auto workers up there in Michigan. Those poor bastards and their "health care" and their "living wage" contracts are causing all the trouble! Why, if they didn't insist on taking their kids to the doctor every time one of the little snivelers got sick, they might have been able to save Bear Stearns! I gotta hot tub, a three car garage, and a view of the lake. I figure I'm well on my way to full blown oligarch.

Could this be Stevunt Redux? Whatever, it's boring... Totally agree. It's boring when someone points out the lack of apparent interest in a board that was supposedly the political el Dorado after the mass exodus from SBN WHICH LEADS TO... a douchebag moderator taking offense at pointing out the obvious and then having the same douchebag moderator verbally attack you and your family. All over a "True Blood" allusion (which did in fact express regret--note the emoticon in the original post) (BTW, the most activity this board has seen in a month, fwiw)

So we just spent another $70k on redoing our backyard...and it now includes a pond and 7000gph stream with waterfall. When TSHTF and there's no more electricity, I'm going to enslave my neighbors and make them carry buckets of water up the hill to keep the stream running. Crown jewel is an old-growth Beech tree that's 5' in diameter, it has to be at least as old as our nation is. Weird to think that this tree was probably just getting started when the civil war was going on. If you're going to be an Oligarch, you have to have an old-growth tree on your property. If you need any additional advice for your preps just let me know.

I have a lake installed by God himself! I believe I have been granted the divine right to rule as a result. I do like enslaving the neighbors, though. I'll have to look into that.

You guys might be oligarchs, but I'm officially a feudal lord. We paid a whole lot less for our house, but it's worth the same as yours, according to the assessment. Considering the assessed value never got close to it's inflated value a couple years ago, it's probably somewhat accurate. Since we have been here a long time, we are now royals. And, we have already turned the neighbors into serfs. Life is good. We don't have any money, but feudal lords don't need peasant stuff like money.
