So, folks. Looking for an older Ducati. Narrowed it down to 2. Please let me know what you think a 1987 Ducati F1B with 13 miles on it or a 1985 Hailwood Replica 900 Thoughts?

That would be the 900. Bevel drive with a factory racing exhaust on it.
EDIT: Can't say for sure. I just watched a few videos of 750f1s and they are loud stock.

A stock F1B was only just street legal, as I recall, and actually was illegal in a couple of states, I think. Definitely great for pissing off shitty neighbors.

So, which is it going to be?

I am leaning towards the 750. My issue is that the guy wants 14K and it's not really a runner.
It has a Del'Orto racing carb kit with it, but the bike hasn't been run in years. It could be an expensive project and 14K seems like a lot for a non-runner.

A bike with 13 miles on it is going to have all manner of problems, starting with every rubber part on it. The F1B is beautiful for sure, but if you are going to ride it, the 900 is probably a better bet.

They're rare, but not THAT rare, and I imagine that parts should be fairly available, except for specific sized tires, maybe. Methinks you should go with the 900, instead, if it is a runner and the price is lower.

The price is high for initial buy-in, but once it's running? Might be worth it. If you have the money I say go for it. Neither bike is exactly what one would call 'practical', so get the one you want. Bikes like these have nothing to do with common sense or practical concerns.

All the hoses dry rotted (not to mention this is a rubber band racer) and things gummed up in the motor. Which is why I'm thinking 14K is a bit crazy.
