I have more or less lusted after one of those since the first rumors. If KTM had got their act together a little faster, I might have one of those instead of the 675.

Honestly, the sweetest steering bike I have ever ridden. It feels like it's bored with me on it.

Between that and the Shelby, I'm pretty sure I hate you.

Between that and the Shelby, I'm pretty sure I hate you. There are far better reasons to hate me than that!

Sick bike. If I trusted my KTM dealer farther than I could throw them I'd have that on the short list. But they can't even get my Duke running right.
You have a Shelby too? Cobra??

Who's your dealer? I-90? I swore them off when I wrecked the Speed Triple and they tried to pass off a set of Napoleans for the CRG mirrors I had on the bike when I brought it in. That and the fact that when I came in to pick up the bike they hadn't tested it and it still didn't work...

Yeah I-90. They're the only place remotely near the city that I know of (I can take the bus to work from there). I paid them to install a power commander and dyno tune the bike and while it was vastly improved, there was still a pretty horrible throttle lagging/surging issue right in the middle of my cruising/rolling on the throttle RPM range 3800-4500. I took it back to them twice and they claimed that they didn't notice it. Then it started behaving weird on start up, revving way too high and not dropping into a normal idle speed. I'd have to shut it down and restart it multiple times to get it to idle properly. Then a couple weeks ago I was riding it home and on 99 in rush hour and it just started accelerating on it's own, to the point where I was giving it no throttle and was going 60 in 2nd gear while holding the brakes. I had to cut the engine and restart it while rolling at 60 in the dark, in rush hour with no shoulder. Haven't ridden it since and I have no idea where to take it to get it sorted. Is there another shop nearby? I don't care if it's a KTM dealer necessarily, just that they know their shit.

Wow, that's completely unacceptable, not to mention incredibly dangerous. The only other shop I know of off the top of my head is Cyclebarn. If their KTM techs are as capable as their Triumph techs, I would recommend them highly.

Cool, I'll give em a ring and see what they say. Beats having a beautiful, paid for bike I can't ride.
Maybe I can trade it in for an RC8 ;D

Actually there's no way I could swing that. You should see what the Corona is costing me these days.
You'd probably like it, seeing as you're a former Miata owner. When it's done it's going to be mostly Miata. Fully independent adjustable suspension, LSD, big ass brakes, turboed Miata engine (!). It's even getting the Miata dash/gauges. In the end I'll be getting a really weird, light weight, mid-engined, Corona looking thing that can blow doors off just about everything short of a Shelby Cobra.
