Company to replace paychecks with kudos.
Milewhen, Flur and Hufhurur, a manufacturer of rubber fittings for folding chair legs, announced today that it will stop paying its employees and start offering kudos instead. The company sees this as the next revolution in the American workforce. “Our employees take pride in their work and don’t see the job as just a way to make money. They take pride in our product and their efforts. We intend to reward that pride with kudos, instead of money” said Nathan Strumeled, a spokesperson for the company.
“I like the recognition” says Jim Fuld, an employee at the company for 20 years. “It used to be that I would perform my job, day in and day out, without any real recognition other than a paycheck and a yearly raise. Now, the managers tell me what a wonderful job I have been doing and how if I work hard, the sky is the limit for my career.”. “Of course, my car is going to be repossessed at the end of the week and my electricity may be turned off soon, but I am confident that I will eventually be promoted and able to pay my bills”.
Mr. Sturmeled went on to say “We see this as an unprecedented period of profit for the salary drawing employees at the company. We intend to compensate executive level employees handsomely with our newfound margin. The company has experienced a good amount of growth recently, and with our happy employees finally getting the recognition they deserve, we see no reason this will stop any time soon”
When asked how this will effect his family, Fuld said "Although it may be hard on us initially, I think we will adjust, especially with all of the moral support the company is giving me".
