Compensation of mgmt being tied to margins, this chart makes my old, tired contention (capital greed underlies _everything_ wrong in our developing economic situation) very well. If this is the "new normal" we are all certainly and completely screwed.

It's interesting that the massive capital market crash and depression reversed the gap in the 30's, but the 2008 crash has had pretty much the opposite effect of just widening the gap further.

It is only going to get worse as capital intensive machines take over work from labor intensive people.
