First time back in the woods in about 18 years, and I get rained on Saw one doe, that's it. Of course, my father and his brother saw a couple bucks, but decided they weren't worth shooting on the first day Oh well, next week - then I can blast Bambi's mom, too ;D

Isn't drinking the purpose of deer hunting anyway?

Isn't drinking the purpose of deer hunting anyway? Only after the guns are put away, and it's after noon!!

I'd sure like to go hunting again, though for elk, not deer. Elk tastes better. I was talking to one of the ladies in IT and she goes hunting nearly every year. She said cougar tastes amazing. I had no idea.

I had no idea. Are Cougars plentifull in your area? I would tend not to want to shoot them, and take aim at your Elk. Pretty sure there are much more Elk then there are Cougars. But I would rather go in the woods with a camera then a gun, but that is me.

I like venison, and it will help me fill the freezer for the season.
No drinking while handling firearms, although a pull of Scotch would have felt good yesterday.
Coyotes are in season, too. I wonder what coyote sausage tastes like?

Only after the guns are put away, and it's after noon!! Never heard the after noon rule. Indeed. I've lived my life by the axiom that it's always noon somewhere.

Ha!
I'd like to go hunting, too. Anyone in the NW area that's gonna go shoot wood varmints, let me know. I haven't been since I was a kid, but I'm a killer camp cook.

I'd like to get in on that action too. Hell, if anyone knows where one can rent a gun at a range and shoot a bit that'd be some fun too.
