At a concert today in Swindon, singer Morrissey collapsed on stage and doctors say it was under the weight of his self loathing.
The singer, known for his gloomy lyrics and melancholy voice, shocked fans by falling down during the performance of his song Late Night, Maudlin Street. At the end of the almost 8 minute song, he shouted "This oppressive life smothers my dreams", then collapsed.
Paramedics on the scene administered Morphine, as well as Pavement, but to no avail. They rushed him to the hospital where the singer was attended by physicians. Doctors have not said whether the singer will make a full recovery, but have said "We expect him to be melancholy within 2 weeks."

That sound you're hearing is the sonic boom as the joke flies stratospherically over my head.
