God, it's good to talk bike again!!
Ok, so what the guy is probably talking about with the ECU is the Akrapovic tune that dealers can flash the ECU with if you buy the Akra pipes. My dealer did that as well, and I have MIVV exhausts on it. At first, I just ran it with the PCIII, it ran ok. The guy flashed it, it ran like shit and I put the Akra tune from the PCIII on it and it runs flawlessly.
If it's an 07, check the size of the countershaft sprocket. Some came with 17T sprockets. If you have a 17T, I recommend the first mod you do is a 16T sprocket on front. It does wonders.
I also recommend getting a steering damper. I run a Scotts. Clean install.
As far as bodywork goes, Skidmarx makes a belly pan for the bike that retains oil, if you want to race it.
Suspension wise, I would check your tire pressures. My bike is almost darty and I have no mods to the suspension. Suspension is very expensive to mod on this bike. The WP stuff starts at 1K+ for a shock, and that's not the good one!
They make an adjustable shock clevis to change ride height, if you want to quicken your steering. That would be a relatively inexpensive way to speed it up a bit.
I have a few cosmetics on the bike, because I had an incident where someone sorta hit it with a hammer and dumped it on both sides.
As far as don't gets, I would say the comfort seat is worthless.
I have an R&G tail tidy. Again, sorta worthless and doesn't clean up the rear end dramatically.
The larger screen just points the air at your head if you are taller than 5'9".
My next mods are a better clutch slave cylinder, a throttle tube and brake upgrades. Truth be told, the bike is so much fun, I can't really knock it. I am also still trying to get a CF front wheel, but I am working on a deal for that. I may not get that deal
I would recommend superduke forums for advice and also, I have been dealing with KTM Twins and they have been great so far.
Enjoy it!
