The question now is, where? I picked up a new set of saddlebags this afternoon and since I actually have paid vacation again, I'm finally going to be able to take a road trip this year. The Guzzi is in as good a shape as it's been since I bought it and once I get a few more minor upgrades and fixes done it will be ready to go across the country and back. I've done the California Coast a couple of times so I know which roads to take and where to go, but I'm thinking I might want to go somewhere I haven't been before this year. Like Colorado, for instance. Colrado would be a good destination for about six day ride, leaving plenty of time to get there and back and explore while there.
So, Smith and Dave, what do you recommend? I'm thinking Hwy 20 all the way east until hooks up with 2 in Idaho, then 200 to 93 in Montana, take 93 south back into Idaho to 28 at Salmon and south along the Lemhi Range. I'm not really sure from there, at this point.
Any suggestions?

Rt.50?? I've heard it's pretty nice in Colorado, I road it thru Nevada on my way to San Fran. America's loneliest highway. My ridding buddy has us doing a quick trip to Wyoming, and Montana, he collect dirt from all the states he has road in, and needs samples from these two states. Good luck, and ride safe!!

'Nother question, when's the best time of year? I was thinking August given I want to spend as much time in the mountains as possible and figure the roads would be more likely to be passable than in June or July.

I don't see why it wouldn't be and why you wouldn't be.
