I'm thinking August, for the roads in the mountains. Any input?

Not Mid-May, that is for sure. First time I road in a slight snow storm on I-70 going over the pass towards Glenwood Springs, not fun, not fun at all.

Yeah, a couple of years ago some of the roads around Mt St Helens never opened up at all due to snow the previous winter.

I was dragging my feet doing 25 following a semi. Once over the pass it was like summer once again.

I could miss that experience and feel okay about the trip.

Riding on the freeway in a blizzard is an adventure you only need once to know you don't really need it at all.

That's for damn sure. Although riding in the snow on a dual-sport is a whole lot of fun.....

Thread resurrection. Trip is now to Moab and Arches Nat'l Park with maybe some time in SW Colorado. So any of you Colorado peeps who can sneak out during the first week of August keep it on your calendar. Baldrick and I are leaving Seattle on the 28th of July.
