Doing any track days this year or just racing? I'm itching to get to the track

Neither, most likely. It's killing me, but the economy has been killing me for over a year, so it's just fallout. Maybe in 2011. What will happen is the kid's college tuition will suck up every nickle we have if I get a decent amount of work this year, so the most likely scenario is being a street squid only until 2013 or so. Them's the breaks when you have a kid and didn't go to law school or Wall Street.

Dude, that totally sucks - and it sounds like me last year. Being totally unemployed for a year does a number on your available track time. Thank god this year has turned around for me.
Are you keeping your SV and the van of doom?
What about supermoto track days? - I heard they were cheapish

The blingin' hooptie van is a fixture. Mad Max the 'tard has been giving me fits, since every time I get close to putting it back together again, there's a complication. Each complication seems to mean waiting for another three to six months for some oddball little part. I should just part it out and be done with it. A friend is using the SV for track days so he doesn't use up his superbike motor. At least my bike is going to the track.

Glad to hear the SV is still getting used - though it sucks it's not you doing it. What's wrong with your Husky?

The magneto was toast, so I ordered a new one. It took forever to get here, then when it did, I found out I'm going to have to rewire the bike to make it work and cut the coil bracket off the frame and reweld it somewhere else to make things fit. No problem on either count, but then I found out the nut which holds the magneto together wouldn't work with the new magneto. So, I got one (left hand thread, exotic size). It took a while. Then I discovered Mad Max has a different thread pitch on the end of the crank from any other four stroke Husqvarna ever made. So, I'm waiting again. The latest is the replacement nut which didn't work and the original nut seem to have disappeared in the mail. I'm pretty sure Mad Max is a rolling black hole for time and frustration.
