I've never regretted voting for Dick Lugar. Ev Bayh is shaping up to be a good Republican, too, but I'm not as thrilled about that.
I totally disagree with him on social issues, but I like Jeff Flake because he shows it is possible to be a committed conservative without being a hypocritical douchebag.
Retired Republicans who I liked a lot when they were in office: Warren Rudman, Alan Simpson, and Jim Leach, just off the top of my head.

This should be a brief thread.
I don't like any of them. Even the ones who aren't assholes will never criticize the ones who are giant-sized assholes. Sociopaths and their enablers, the lot of 'em.

He was one of the douchebags that made a big deal about Clinton's BJ and wanted him impeached. Leach=Gingrich IMHO.

Doesn't have to be current! I've always wondered if TR took a small belt sander to his teef.

Recordings of TR's old speeches are available on the net--they are pretty interesting to listen to. If he were reincarnated into a current politician, I think half of him would be Kucinich (economic), the other half George Bush (foreign policy). ;D
Current repubs are all maniacal corporatists. As are *most* dems. Got no use for any politician that represents interests that oppose those of my own class.

Yeah, the downside of Teddy is that he sure liked his foreign adventures.

Great human being. Pete's the guy that told me Pat Robertson was no combat Marine, but a liquor go-fer on account of his father (a US senator from VA) keeping him out of the front lines. So his job was to ferry booze for the Officers Clubs in Korea from Tokyo. Robertson sued McCloskey.....and lost. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pete_McCloskey
