It's about why you don't negotiate with terrorists. And, it's interesting to see an economist calling out the Republicans for threatening (and succeeding) to undermine the recovery if they don't get their bought and paid for way. I wonder how much of their obstructionism and brinksmanship was for pure partisan gain - undermine the recovery to harm Obama's reelection chances. I'm sure Mitch McConnell thought of it. As a side note, another article called Boehner one of the weakest and worst Speakers of the House in American history. It went on to say he's arguably the worst and most venal, more interested in his own position than in the health of the nation. But, we all knew that already. The press is finally figuring it out. Sure, it's the obscure economics press I read, but no less than the Economist, that Islamofascist Socialist propaganda organ, has been increasingly critical of the GOP and their idiocy.
