Looking more & more like we (and/or NATO) are going to get into Syria.
This middle east thing seems to be getting more unstable by the day in *every* way imaginable. What a freakin' powder keg.

If it goes according to Hoyle, Russia, China, and the US will all be on the same side, more or less. It will still be a colossal mess. I'm inclined to believe Obama won't just wade in like Bush would have, but who knows what the Russians will really do. The Chinese follow their own logic, but their logic is based on their national interests for the most part, and is more apparently decipherable than Russian behavior.
Syria seems to have gone off the deep end. Iran will get sucked in as Assad's only remaining buddies, and because Iraq is between Iran and Syria, it will be a harsh battleground. We really didn't need this. Of course, a war is the one form of economic stimulus acceptable to mindless GOPers. Gotta find a silver lining, even if it takes some morbid logic to find it.

One other factor - the Arab League isn't going to defend Syria. They may actually join in on the fun, for a price no doubt.
