Go figure. Roberts was the deciding vote to uphold the healthcare law. I wonder if Scalia tipped it by being such a colossally partisan asshole, as he was in his dissent in the Arizona immigration case.
I'm not sure what to think about the decision, as a practical matter. Yes, the healthcare law remains in effect and is constitutional, but the shocking defection of one of Scalia's carbuncles. Leaving it in place gets us no closer to the single payer system we really need, though, and it means the wingnut fringe will really be foaming at the mouth during this election year. Well, that last one would be true anyway, so never mind.

It's guaranteed to fire up the wingnuts, and Romney and Boehner have gone on record with vows to repeal it. I hope this doesn't backfire by making more of the non-wingnuts complacent enough to stay home on election day...

I hope not. Whether we like every provision of it or not, the proper course of action now is to figure out how it works or doesn't, and then fix what doesn't instead of a whole lot of partisan whining. The GOP likes to whine, but I haven't heard a single proposal out of the Republicans except "we want to go back to the good ol'd days." I got news for 'em: the good ol' days never existed.

THey think "Leave it to Beaver" was Reality TV, and nothing will convince them otherwise. Not to mention that they hate Socialism, as long as it's helping anyone else, the selfish c**ts, not realizing how much of it they absolutely depend on every day.
