I mean you really have to wonder if this guy listens to himself. I didn't know he was able to see into the future. He said this morning that Obama will lie during the debates but he (Romney) will tell the truth. Oh really?
Give me a second here and I'll get back to the above. Romney was in the area yesterday (Virginia). During one of his speeches he blamed Obama for the income gap. This guy has a BIG set.
Anyway back to the topic on hand:

If he can get people to believe that Obama will make shit up like him, then maybe he won't come out of the debates so badly. Only reason I can think of for saying something like that.

It is the Rovian tactic of projecting your own weaknesses on your opponents. This is *exactly* how John Kerry became a cowardly, craven attention seeker by getting shot at and taking shrapnel out of his ass, while Bush became a farking action figure doll. It is *exactly* the tactic that has allowed the Republicans to paint themselves as fiscally responsible while simultaneously maxing out the national credit card.
The scary thing is, it works.

You just have to wonder how long the doublespeak is going to work before somebody actually notices. The press all ought to know Mittens is full of it, but they still seem to think reporting what he says without any comment about whether it has any resemblance to reality is OK. It's bizarre. I wonder what grip the GOP has over the press to get this kind of treatment.

GOP backers OWN most of the corporations that own the media. Somehow, I don't expect reporting styles to change much...
