1. Encourage people to post under real names. 2. Eliminate the archaic concept of volunteer busybodies.

Anyway, I think no moderation is a good peg to hang your hat on. The idea doesn't seem to get much traction though, which probably explains why the people at SBN could think it was sensible to write their own (I believe) death notice.
