I WOULD be riding these days, except that there's INCREDIBLE amounts of gravel and salt on the roads (like, when it's windy you can TASTE the street salt - fucking gross). I'm looking to trade in/sell my bike in a month, so I don't want to risk damaging it before now and then.

I want to get my KLR out, but I want to ride it around locally so I get a feel for how it responds before doing my commute on it. Plus, the Gold Wing has heated grips ;D

Work? What's work? I'm livin' off the fat of the land, baby! When I ride, I ride for pure pleasure!

The KLR has grip shields at least, it may be enough.

I rode yesterday and today.
I've had a cold all week. I went shooting at lunch on Monday (new gun to play with), and the whole time I was at the range, my cold symptoms went away completely. Then came back about 30 minutes after getting back to work.
I was out sick Tues and Wed. I was still sick yesterday and today, but felt great as long as I was riding. Weird how riding and shooting is an effective treatment for cold symptoms.

Mad Max might have all the parts I need to make it run again. 575 cc of 1998 Husqvarna mayhem in a 1991 frame, all wrapped in peeling flat black paint. I'll have to do a bit of cutting and welding on a bracket for the coil, but after more than a year of hunting parts, getting parts made, and generally ignoring it, I might ride it again. I might have steady work again one of these days, too, but I'm not expecting miracles.

I got a Kimber Ultra Carry II.
How do you like the Springfield? My SO is looking for a 1911 too, or possibly some kind of .40. He had a Kimber on his list, but mine is such a PITA to take apart and put together, he'll probably get something else.

That, too. Now go clean your frickin' weapon, again, maggot! I don't want to see even the smallest speck of gunge in that frickin' barrel, or the daggone receiver group! If I find anything, anything at all, you'll be in my sand pit, doing push-ups 'til I'M tired! <takes off campaign cover and duty belt> ;D
